Does anyone else have those moments of sheer lunacy when they're sitting in a meeting and say something that seems like a good idea at the time but actually just winds you up with a load of funny looks and chairs being shuffled not so subtly away?

Or when something pops into your head and out your mouth before you can stop it? Thought snot.

Sneezes.

How about when you're just sitting quietly minding your own business and something funny occurs to you and before you know it you're in hysterics and once more your colleagues are staring at you in horror...

Its not just me is it?

2 posts in 2 months! "What on earth is going on?!" I hear you cry. Well I shall put you out of your misery and tell you. Quite frankly, I'm only here because I want your money! Thats right all of it, just put it in the bag, back away slowly and tie your wrists with these zip ties..no? Ok so moving swiftly on...

In the coming months I shall be running the Race for Life with the Norwich St Albans 23rd Girl Guides and I'm asking you lovely people out there to dig into your pockets and sponsor myself and the girls. Because if I'm going to be dragged into running 5k with 20 shrieking teenagers I'm not going to be doing it for free...

But seriously, its for a good cause. I'm sure everyone out there reading this knows someone who has either had cancer, has cancer or has been adversely affected by cancer. My godfather is fighting it as I type, so please, it doesn't matter how much, just show a little support. Mug your colleagues and get them to show some support, mug your families and friends..hell mug the back of your sofa cushions because, as that irritating woman in the Tescos ads says, "every little helps"

http://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/karenmaltby

I'll nag no more,

Thanks

Isn't reading supposed to be an enjoyable recreational passtime? So why bog yourself down in that load of antiquated rubbish. When did you start feeling old?
I don't, I'm just a kid trapped in an adults body doing my best to behave like a grown up.

21. What do you get every time you go into Wal-Mart?
Mmmm Ice Tea.

22. Beach or lake?
Depends on the size of your boat.

23. Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?
No, I think its a legally and financially sensible contract, quite aside from being a nice way to express commitment. And a great way to stop the government nicking all that's yours from your partner should you die.

24. Do you own property?
Can't afford it for at least another 60 years the way prices are.

25. Favorite guilty pleasure?
Chocolate, a Mills and Boon and a nice LUSH bath.

26. What's your drink?
Tea or whisky.

27. Who from high school would you like to run in to?
Run into? Like run over? With a car? Or a tank? No one.

28. What radio station is your car radio tuned to right now?
Radio 1 I believe unless James has changed it, I've been listening to a CD all week.

30. Worst relationship mistake that you wish you could take back?
Hmm...shouldn't have hugged my sister before I left after christmas..the little puke'll get ideas and start asking for money.

31. Have you ever crashed your vehicle?
It wasn't mine but yes..first time behind the wheel of a car and I cheerfully put it in a ditch, nearly twisted the chasis. James has crashed our vehicle though, just before I went into hospital.

32. Have you ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose?
Yup. I work in a LABORATORY ok?! These things HAPPEN. And no it wasn't me. And for gods sake dont tell James.

33. Last book you read?
Read or am reading? The one I'm reading is Deathly Hallows and the one before was whatever came before the Deathly Hallows. Outside of that series I've been reading Voice of the Gods from the Age of the Five series by Trudi Canavan.

34. Do you have a teddy bear?
Yup, he's almost as old as I am and very well travelled.

35. Do you go to church?
Not for a long time.

36. At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or a new relationship?
New career or rather, same career different speciality..

37. How old are you?
Apparently I'm 23 though I thought I was 22 for a long time but it seems I've missed a year someplace and am actually 23 and 4 months or some such.

To let everyone know I'm still alive and have found my livejournal account again.

Because quite frankly I'm disappointed and I'd like to lodge a formal complaint.

In other news Wake. Study. Eat. Study. Eat. Study. WoW. Read. Sleep. Rinse and repeat. Theres a fair amount of avoidance of studying going on too, much like now. My flatmates other half has a sum total of 1 exam..which he has at the beginning of the exam period. He finishes before I start. Considering inviting all the arts students to a "study session" in the library then burning it down..with the added bonus that alledgedly if the library burns down within a month of finals everyone gets 2:1's. But then to be fair, what self respecting arts student would show up to a study session.

*ducks flying shoes*

Yeah yeah hate me all you want you know its true. 1 exam!...bastards.

Thats enough of my stereotyping, i need a cup of tea to fortify myself for some gardening.

K

One word. Boring. Sums you up to a tee. You're responsible, trustworthy, serious and down to earth. Boring. Boring. Boring.

You play by the rules. You follow tradition. You encourage structure.

You insist that EVERYBODY do EVERYTHING by the book. Seriously, is there even an ounce of imagination in that little brain of yours? I mean, what's the point of imagination, right? It has no practical value...

As far as you're concerned, abstract theories can go screw themselves. You just want the facts, all the facts and nothing but the facts.

Oh. And you're a perfectionist. About everything. You know that the previous sentence was gramattically incorrect and that "gramattically" was spelt wrong. Your financial records are correct to 25 decimal places and your bedroom is in pristine condition. In fact, you even don't sleep on your bed anymore for fear that you might crease the sheets.

Thankfully, you don't have anyone else to share the bed with, because you're uncomfortable expressing affection and emotion to others. Too bad.

*****************

If you want to learn more about your personality type in a slightly less negative way, check out this.

*****************

The other personality types are as follows...

Loner - Introverted Sensing Feeling Perceiving
Pushover - Introverted Sensing Feeling Judging
Criminal - Introverted Sensing Thinking Perceiving
Almost Perfect - Introverted iNtuitive Feeling Perceiving
Freak - Introverted iNtuitive Feeling Judging
Loser - Introverted iNtuitive Thinking Perceiving
Crackpot - Introverted iNtuitive Thinking Judging
Clown - Extraverted Sensing Feeling Perceiving
Sap - Extraverted Sensing Feeling Judging
Commander - Extraverted Sensing Thinking Perceiving
Do Gooder - Extraverted Sensing Thinking Judging
Scumbag - Extraverted iNtuitive Feeling Perceiving
Busybody - Extraverted iNtuitive Feeling Judging
Prick - Extraverted iNtuitive Thinking Perceiving
Dictator - Extraverted iNtuitive Thinking Judging

The phone rings. Who do you want it to be?
The Exam board - "Sorry we've made a horrible mistake and would like to take this opportunity to apologise for making you do those hideous exams. Having seen the error of out ways we've decided to give you a first with honours because you're absolutely fantastic"

2. When shopping at the grocery store, do you return your cart?
No I steal it and set up a medieval jousting contest in the tinned veg aisle....every. single. time.

3. In a social setting, are you more of a talker or a listener?
Listener..coz lets face it look at my other half, it'd be a cold day in hell before I could get a word in edgeways.

4. Do you take compliments well?
Nope, I deny it and find a multitude of ways to disprove them.

5. Are you an active person?
Not by choice.

6. If abandoned alone in the wilderness, would you survive?
For how long? Couple of days probably but then I'd get hungry and come home.

7. Do you like to ride horses?
As opposed to a car? No not really, and you always have that funky smell about you afterwards. I can't understand the attraction.

8. Did you ever go to camp as a kid?
Hehe like fat camp? No, alas not.

9. What was your favorite game as a kid?
I don't remember probably bulldog or mousetrap.

10. Are you judgmental?
I try not to be but fear I am anyway.

12. Could you date someone with different religious beliefs than you?
I do at the moment, gets me into lots of trouble..he's rather touchy about the "jeans, dockers and a pint" comment.

13. Do you like to pursue or be pursued?
Persued.

14. Use three words to describe yourself.
Gravity blows goats.

15. If you had to choose, would you rather be deaf or blind?
Deaf, lip reading ftw. Blindness would induce something similar to that horrible sense of panic you get when you can't find your glasses.

16. Are you continuing your education?
Education? HA! I'm being screwed every which way by UEA in persuit of a degree which I haven't the foggiest what I'll do with, does that count?

17. Do you know how to shoot a gun?
What kind? Nevermind. Yes.

18. If your house was on fire, what would be the first thing you grabbed?
Presuming the appropriate emergency services were already enroute I'd grab the guy I live with.

19. How often do you read books?
Not a day goes by I don't read some form of book.

20. Do you know what frottage is?
I do now
(1. The act of rubbing against the body of another person, as in a crowd, to attain sexual gratification. 2a. A method of making a design by placing a piece of paper on top of an object and then rubbing over it, as with a pencil or charcoal.
2b. A design so made.)

23. Do you look like your mom or dad?
I don't really look like either, I look kind of like my sister except she's blonde (its ok I forgive her) and she looks like Dad so I guess Dad by proxy.

35. How long does it take you in the shower?
I have a lot of hair, takes me 15 mins just to wash the bloody stuff then about another 10-15 mins to wash me.

36. Can you do splits?
I haven't the foggiest and given I'm currently sitting in a busy chemistry computer lab I'm not really willing to try. Could be rather amusing though. Was an elf druid at the party on the bridge to stormwind. I'd like to point out here that its not that we're incredibly sad and geeky (though we are at that) Its because we live on the edge of the lincolnshire fens and its 30 miles or more to the nearest place even vaguely resembling civilisation and lets face it who wants to drive 30 miles to a party, not drink then drive back a few hours later when you could be sloshing round stormwind alcohol and partner in tow?

40. Do you think The Grudge was scary?
Never saw it.

41. Was your mom a cheerleader?
LOL! My mother is the anti-cheerleader, I think she eats cheerleaders for breakfast and I'd have been disowned if I'd even thought about becoming an airhe...cheerleader.

45. What's the last letter of your middle name?
A

46. Who did you vote for on American Idol?
Who with the what now?

47. How many hours of sleep do you get a night?
Hmm honestly or what I tell James? :D Last night I got about 2 but its normally between 5 and 7

48. Do you like care bears?
Care bears could kick the hulks angry green ass.

49. What do you buy at the movies?
Tickets.

50. Do you know how to play poker?
In theory but I'm a bit crap in practise, which is fine since I normally wind up dealing anywho..misspent youth playing cards in the 6th form common room.

And theres my memes caught up on. Next move 3CO3 studying.

First CAP then the world! Ahahaha...

P.S First person to comment gets a cookie!

...ooooooooooooo...!!eleven!1!

Gah..GAH! Just had a coursetest on the top floor of CMP..10 o clock on a Friday morning? What the hell were they thinking? That I could just about take but I stood for 30 minutes at the bus stop before 2 buses came along making me 5 minutes late followed by the sprint from the bus stop to CMP then up 6 or so flights of stairs making me 5 more minutes late and an asthmatic wheezy mess. Busses every 10 minutes?! HA! By jiggery someone shall pay for this and it's not just going to be my score! Its just as well its not a negative marking test or I'd be in the minus numbers..bastards *muttering unbecoming a lady*..twatting arseholes.

Not happy.

Meeting at 12, a lecture at 1 then I think I might take a little bit of time out of my day to head on down to First Bus head quarters...with a flamethrower. Might make me late for the train though and I fear mchicago wouldn't stick around whilst I did my jailtime...which I'd do gladly at this point, useless pusnuggets. <lj:music>Offspring - The Kids Aren't Alright</lj:music>

I can't actually remember when I last did a post detailing what I've been upto but needless to say its been a while. So, what have I done...uhhh not a lot actually..watched many cool movies, and many crap ones. Finished the project from hell, well kindda.

My profs not entirely sure whether I'm supposed to write the report or he is, he thinks its him and has told me not to worry about it so i'm expecting an email anytime sayin "by the way the write ups yours and its due in first of november" Thanks!

Handed in some coursework and taken a coursetest (84.6% - rocking the Protein Structure and Chemistry) I dont actually have many hours a week this sememster in theory. Have 3 modules at the moment, the afforementioned PS&C as well as Organic Compounds Properties and Synthesis (more organic chem ohgod!) and Cellular Signalling (mmhow many students can you send to sleep in 50 minutes?) which total upto around 7 hours lectures, 3 hours seminars and no labs yet. That and the 12 hours a week i'm expected to spend on research project and its a fairly reasonable 22hrs a week *grin* at least it is until you factor in that i wind up spending around 23 hrs a week in lab for my project..and i dont even know what it is! Plus I'm expected to spend an additional 37 hours a week in private study and reading. So around 70 hours a week if they've not put additional lectures on and I leave the lab when I'm supposed to be out of the building instead of getting one of the research workers to let me out. Leaves me with around 14 hours a day to play with..or you know..sleep and eat. Does anyone seriously do that reading?

Been home, come back, had a hair cut, gotten older..speaking of which my little sisters' going to be 18 next month how old does that make me feel?! had renticle visit, been for drinks, had my ass handed to me at pool, wowed, inadvertantly caused a miniwowwar, read a lot, made pumpkins :D, been to le cinema, slept lots, been to yorkshire and met J's relatives...though i'm not sure whether i've posted about that already. I dunno, my days are bleeding into one giant memory and i can't distinguish what happened when anymore but thats stuff anyway.

Thanks to people for coming to birthday thing, i realise its horrendously late but I've been kindda busy.
I'm still very much alive I'm afraid, been working my tiny little socks off in labs and goo like that. Now have a most awesome timesaver in the form of http://www.imenlabs.org.uk/kazchemistry/ curteosy of Mr J thank you so so sooooo much for that. If you don't know what a fluorimeter is and don't use ".sp" files I suggest you dont bother with that link...

This one however http://www.the-ba.net/the-ba/Events/FestivalofScience/ EVERYONE should look at because its science and its fantastic! There seems to be something for pretty much everyone...even the lowly data mining geeks ;) The BA festival of science baby yeah! (Peabs if you're reading this and are still off school then you can come crash here and go to the food tech related events if you wish) Lots of cool looking genetics and medicine...oh and genetic medicine stuff on too *grin* Tis from the 2-9th September so ya know...go lookski and learn something you lazy arse *bounce*

Ummm that might be about it really, had a couple of killer days in lab recently but I'm trying to forget them. My FRET effect is still missing, the growup of the two cysteine mutants failed first time causing me to have to spend two very very long days stuck in a smelly lab and we realised I hadn't done the Im9 testing in 8M urea with a crowding agent so i spent a stupid number of hours doing that. But I'm not going to bore you anymore with that junk, mostly because I'm off to get me some food.

I HATE the smell of bacteria in the morning.

Kaz

Massive and covered in scales, they shimmer with strength and magic. They are the most obvious display of your power - though it runs equally throughout your heart and mind. You are uncompromising and grave, with a profound sense of justice. You have firm ideas about what is right and what is wrong and set out to fix what problems you can. You realize that you are more capable of dealing with life and evil than most, and as such you see it as your responsibility to protect those who cannot defend themselves. You have existed since antiquity and as such you are wise far beyond your years in this lifetime. While you strive for fairness and peace, if someone should steal from your cave of treasure (though not all that glitters is gold) or compromise the happiness of you or one who is close to you - they have signed their death warrant. You have a mighty vengeance and will unleash it upon such people immediately and mercilessly. Arguing with you is useless...you rarely back down and are known for holding firm in your beliefs. Sometimes you feel intensely burdened with the troubles of others...acting as a Guardian can get so wearisome. But you never give up...you see it as your life's mission. Often very introverted, you can be so smart...it's scary. Such a combination of intelligence, creativity, power, beauty, and magic is often intimidating to those around you - who are also unlikely to understand you. Arrogant, proud, overserious, and sometimes a bit greedy or obsessed with whatever treasure you choose to pursue...you have enchanted people for centuries, and will continue to do so.Image Source:http://www.ai.mit.edu/people/pkamvyss/www/album/art/pictures/dragon.jpg
Take this quiz!

Quizilla |
Join

| Make A Quiz | More Quizzes | Grab Code

Wow thats a lot of rain.

Am rather bored waiting for my files to transfer across to new pooter.
